ניבה אלקין-קורן היא פרופסור מן המניין למשפטים באוניברסיטת תל אביב, אליה הצטרפה בשנת הלימודים תשפ"א, לאחר שהייתה חברת סגל באוניברסיטת חיפה, ודיקנית הפקולטה למשפטים שם.

ביוגרפיה

ניבה אלקין נולדה לנפתלי אלקין, מנהל המחשוב באוניברסיטת בן-גוריון בנגב. היא בוגרת הפקולטה למשפטים של אוניברסיטת תל אביב (1989), בעלת תואר שני מאוניברסיטת הרווארד (1991) ותואר דוקטור מאוניברסיטת סטנפורד (1995). לאחר סיום לימודי הדוקטורט שבה לישראל והצטרפה לפקולטה למשפטים באוניברסיטת חיפה. היא כיהנה כסגנית הדקאן (2009-2005) וכדקאן הפקולטה (2012-2009). בשנת הלימודים תשפ"א עברה לפקולטה למשפטים באוניברסיטת תל אביב.

ייסדה וניהלה את המרכז למשפט וטכנולוגיה שבפקולטה למשפטים של אוניברסיטת חיפה, ומתמחה בזכויות יוצרים, מסחר אלקטרוני ומסחור ידע. כמו כן ייסדה את התוכנית של בית הספר לפטנטים, שהעניק תואר שני במשפטים עם התמחות בעריכת פטנטים לבוגרי מדעים והנדסה. ניהלה את המרכז לחקר הסייבר, משפט ומדיניות באוניברסיטת חיפה.

אלקין-קורן עוסקת בפעילות ציבורית בתחום הקניין הרוחני, ובין היתר הייתה חברה בוועדת הבקרה לרשות הפטנטים, המדגמים וסימני המסחר ובמועצת הקולנוע וכן עוסקת בייעוץ לגופים ציבוריים בנושא קניין רוחני ודיני מידע. היא עמיתת מחקר בכירה במרכז ברקמן-קליין לאינטרנט וחברה באוניברסיטת הרווארד; לימדה בשורת מוסדות מובילים בעולם כמרצה אורחת, ובין היתר ייל, הרווארד, אוניברסיטת ניו יורק, ועוד, והיא עמיתת מחקר במכון ויצנבאום בגרמניה.
