בתרגום מילולי מגרמנית יהודי שינדלר, (בגרמנית: Schindlerjuden) היו קבוצה של כ-1,200 יהודים שניצלו על ידי אוסקר שינדלר במהלך השואה. הם שרדו את שנות המשטר הנאצי בעיקר באמצעות התערבותו של שינדלר, שמצא להם מעמד מוגן כעובדי תעשייה במפעל כלי האמייל שלו בקרקוב, ואחרי 1944 במפעל החימוש שלו בצ'כיה הכבושה שנקראה אז הפרוטקטורט של בוהמיה ומוראביה. שם ניצלו יהודים אלה מלהישלח למחנות ההשמדה ושרדו רובם ככולם את תקופת מלחמת העולם השנייה. שינדלר הוציא את הונו האישי כתעשיין כדי להציל את "יהודי שינדלר".
סיפורם תואר בספר "תיבת שינדלר" (אנ'), מאת תומאס קנילי (אנ'), ובעיבוד הקולנועי של סטיבן ספילברג לרומן, בשם רשימת שינדלר. פולדק פפרברג (אנ'), אחד הניצולים, שכנע את תומאס קנילי לכתוב את הרומן, ואת סטיבן ספילברג להפיק את הסרט.
על פי ההערכות היו למעלה מ-8,500 צאצאים של "יהודי שינדלר" שחיו ברחבי ארצות הברית, ישראל ומדינות אחרות בשנת 2012.[1]
תולדות הרשימה
הרשימה המקורית של יהודי שינדלר שהועברו למפעל של שינדלר במחנה ברינליץ, בחבל הסודטים הכבושה, הוכנה על ידי מייטק פמפר, יצחק שטרן ואוסקר שינדלר בספטמבר ובאוקטובר 1944.[2][3][4] הרשימה הזו כנראה כבר לא קיימת.
רשימה נוספת עם 1,000 שמות, שערך פמפר עם הגעתם של האסירים ב-21 באוקטובר 1944 למפעל ברינליץ, הוצגה על ידו לארכיוני ארולזן – מרכז בין-לאומי אודות רדיפות הנאצים ב-1958.
שתי רשימות של 1,098 אסירים שנערכו על ידי הנהלת המחנה בברינליץ ב-18 באפריל 1945 קיימות, והן שמורות ביד ושם, שם אוסקר ואמילי שינדלר הוכרו כחסידי אומות העולם.[5][6] הרשימה הראשונה מכילה 297 אסירות (נשים) ואילו הרשימה השנייה מכילה 801 אסירים (גברים). יש כמה עותקים שמורים והעתקי פחם של הרשימה מאפריל 1945, כאשר חלקם נמצאים במוזיאונים בעוד שאחרים נמצאים בידיים פרטיות, בעיקר של משפחות אסירים לשעבר. באפריל 2009 התגלה עותק של הרשימה המקורית, המתעדת 801 שמות. הרשימה נתרמה על ידי מחבר תיבת שינדלר תומאס קנילי, לספריית המדינה של ניו סאות' ויילס בסידני.[7]
