שושנה פלמן

שושנה פֶלמן (באנגלית: Shoshana Felman;‏ נולדה ב-29 בינואר 1942‏ בתל אביב) היא חוקרת ספרות אמריקאית השוואתית וצרפתית, פרופסור מן המניין באוניברסיטת אמורי באטלנטה ומחלוצות השילוב בין ספרות לפסיכואנליזה, ילידת ארץ ישראל שהיגרה לארצות הברית בשנות ה-60.

ביוגרפיה

פלמן נולדה בשנת 1942 בתל אביב לאם ילידת רוסיה, ואב יליד רומניה. אביה היה מהנדס חשמל שדיבר שבע שפות וסבה היה משכיל ציוני ובצעירותה רבות מחוויותיה נקשרו לציונות. במהלך שירותה הצבאי כקצינת חינוך החלה להתפתח תודעתה הפמיניסטית. ובהמשך התחברה לשפה הצרפתית בשל הליריות שבה.

בגיל 17 פירסמה פלמן את הטקסט הראשון שלה, בעקבות צפייה במחזה על חייה של חנה סנש, כתבה לאמה של סנש מכתב שתרגם עבורה להונגרית המשורר אביגדור המאירי. מאוחר יותר המאירי פרסם את שני הנוסחים, את העברי בעיתון "הארץ" ואת ההונגרי בעיתון הונגרי.

פלמן סיימה לימודי תואר ראשון ושני בספרות אנגלית וצרפתית בהצטיינות באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים בשנים 1964 ו-1966, ובשנת 1970 קיבלה את הדוקטורט מאוניברסיטת גְרֶנוֹבְּל שבצרפת על דיסרטציה שעסקה בסופר הצרפתי אנרי סטנדל.

פלמן ידועה בעיקר על השילוב בין ספרות לפסיכואנליזה, בעיקר זאת של לאקאן, שעל בסיסה בהמשך ניתחה ספרות מנקודת מבט פמיניסטית, בעיקר בחקר השיגעון והטראומה בעדותם של ניצולי שואה.

בספר "עדות", שכתבה בשיתוף עם דורי לאוב, חקרה את נושא השואה, תוך התייחסות לעדויות ממשפט אייכמן, והשפעת השואה בתרבות המערבית, בין היתר דרך סרטו של קלוד לנצמן "שואה".

משנת 1970 שימשה מרצה לספרות השוואתית וצרפתית באוניברסיטת ייל, עד שבשנת 2004 עברה לשמש כפרופסור באוניברסיטת אמורי, תפקיד בו היא מחזיקה עד היום.

בשנת 1982 הוענק פלמן תואר קצינה (Officier) של מסדר הפאלם אקדמיק (Ordre des Palmes Académiques) מממשלת צרפת, עבור תרומתה לתרבות הצרפתית.

פלדמן מתגוררת בארצות הברית משנות ה-60, ומגיעה לביקורים בישראל ובצרפת.

ספריה הרבים שנכתבו במקור באנגלית ובצרפתית, תורגמו לשפות רבות בהן: יפנית, סינית, הולנדית, ספרדית ושוודית.
