גבי שפלר (נולד בירושלים, 23 ביוני 1947) הוא פסיכולוג קליני בכיר ופסיכואנליטיקאי, פרופסור מן המניין לפסיכולוגיה, מנחה, מדריך בפסיכותרפיה ובפסיכודיאגנוסטיקה, פסיכואנליטיקאי מנחה, פרופסור לפסיכולוגיה.
שפלר למד ולימד באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים[1]. את העבודה לקבלת תואר דוקטור הגיש ב-1990 בנושא פסיכותרפיה מוגבלת בזמן, מחקר תוצאה מבוקר, בהנחיית פרופ' חיים דסברג ופרופ' גרשון בן-שחר.
ביוגרפיה
בשנים 1975–1979 התמחה בפסיכולוגיה קלינית במחלקה הפסיכיאטרית במרכז רפואי"הדסה", ירושלים, בבי"ח הממשלתי לבריאות הנפש, "בי"ח איתנים, ובמרפאת בי"ח "הרצוג" (עזרת-נשים).
שפלר הוכשר כפסיכותרפיסט באוריינטציה אנליטית (1980-1977) במכון ישראלי לפסיכואנליזה על-שם מ' אייטינגון, בירושלים וב-1997 גמר שם את ההכשרה הפסיכואנליטית.
ב-1984 סיים לימודי המשך בטיפול מוגבל בזמן בשיטת פרופ' ג'יימס מאן ובהנחייתו.
במרוצת קריירתו המקצועית, מ-1967, עבד שפלר "במרכז למען הילד" ירושלים (מכון טיפולי לילדים ובני נוער אוטיסטים) , במחלקת מדעי ההתנהגות בצה"ל במסגרת מילואים, עסק בהנחיית קבוצות בב"יס לעובדי הוראה בכירים במשרד החינוך ובאגף השיקום במשרד הביטחון ומ 1976 ועד לפרישתו ב 2018 עבד כפסיכולוג קליני ולאחר מכן כפסיכולוג הראשי של בית החולים "הרצוג" ("עזרת נשים") בירושלים. בתפקידו האחרון ניהל צוות רב-מקצועי במרפאת המבוגרים, ניהל יחידה לטיפול קצר מועד, היה חבר ב"ועדת הלסינקי" של ביה"ח ושימש כעמית מחקר ב"מרכז לאטנר" למחקר בפסיכותרפיה ובפסיכולוגיה חברתית (מ-1990 ועד 2018).
מ-2018 ועד היום משמש שפלר כפסיכולוג הראשי והאחראי על התמחות הפסיכולוגים בקליניקה הקהילתית של המחלקה לפסיכולוגיה של אוניברסיטת בן - גוריון בנגב.
במשך שנים, במקביל לעבודה הקלינית כיהן שפלר באקדמיה בתחילה כמרצה אורח (מ 1988 ועד 1993) מ-1996 כיהן כמרצה בכיר קליני ומ 2002 כפרופסור במחלקה לפסיכולוגיה באוניברסיטה העברית, היה ראש המגמה הקלינית לפסיכולוגיה ובמשך 4 שנים ברציפות מ 1999 ועד 2002 נבחר כ"מרצה המצטיין". שפלר היה חבר בוועדה העליונה לאתיקה במחקר באוניברסיטה העברית ומנהל "מרכז פרויד" לחקר הפסיכואנליזה ומופקד הקתדרה ע"ש זיגמונד פרויד. במסגרת תפקידיו אלה הגה, יזם והקים את "מארג"- כתב עת לפסיכואנליזה, שנתון שיוצא לאור בהוצאת "מאגנס" ובשיתוף חברות, מכונים ואגודות פסיכואנליטיים. מאז ועד היום משמש כיו"ר המערכת.
מ 2019 מורה בכיר במגמה הקלינית רגישת תרבות במכללה האקדמית "אחווה". ב-2020 מונה לדיקן בית הספר ללימודים מתקדמים במכללה זו.
שפלר הרצה ומרצה, ערך ועורך סדנאות, השתתף בכנסים מקצועיים בארץ ובכל רחבי העולם בנושאים שונים בפסיכולוגיה קלינית ובאתיקה.
שפלר חבר בהסתדרות הפסיכולוגים בישראל, ב"האיגוד הישראלי לפסיכותרפיה", ב"החברה הפסיכואנליטית בישראל", ב"איגוד הבינלאומי לפסיכואנליזה (IPA)", ב"פדרציה האירופאית לפסיכואנליזה", בחברה הבינלאומית למחקר בפסיכותרפיה.
כיהן כיושב-ראש ועדת האתיקה של הסתדרות הפסיכולוגים בישראל מ 1996 עד 2006.
מייסד תחום "אתיקה בפסיכולוגיה"(2002) ב"מרכז לאתיקה" במשכנות שאננים ירושלים, חבר המועצה האקדמית והמנהל האקדמי.
חיים אישיים
שפלר נשוי למיכל, פסיכולוגית קלינית ופסיכואנליטיקאית (בתו של הפסיכולוג פרופ' רון שובל), ואב לשלוש בנות.
מזה כחמישים שנה מנגן גבי שפלר על פעמוני ימק"א ירושלים, במיוחד לפני חגים ובמהלך פסטיבלי מוזיקה. שפלר הוא הפעמונר היחיד בארץ. מגדל פעמוני ימק"א נחנך ב-1933 במעמד הלורד אלנבי ומאז ועד היום זה הקריון (פעמונייה) היחיד במזרח התיכון.
